Tennis Clinics for All Levels

 
We have clinics for all ages and skill levels.  Whether you are trying to get on a high school team, trying out for college, or just starting to learn tennis, we have a clinic to help you get there.  
 
How to Find the Right Junior Tennis Clinic
 
For anyone new to Hollow Rock, you can meet with one of our certified tennis professionals and they will evaluate your level and find the clinic that is right for you. The club may require a play test with a professional for placement. We ask that you please respect the professional’s evaluation in matching you with other players.

Who is eligible to join?
We do require an active membership on file (minimum Junior Tennis Membership).

If you are interested in registering and have not joined the Club, please contact us now.

Clinics Starting January 2024

Registration for all junior clinics in 2024 will open one month prior to each session start date.

Clinic Registration is under “events” in your member portal.

Munchkin Tennis (Ages 4-5)

Tuesdays 3:30-4:00pm

Uses low-compression red balls to introduce correct stroke techniques in a fun, fast passed 30-minute clinic. Clinic is a mix of agility, balance and coordination drills, as well as tennis-specific drills.

Ages 4-6Introduces children to the hand-eye coordination needed to play tennis. We use the 36’ court with the red compression balls based on the USTA Quick start program.

Tuesday/Thursday 4:00-5:00pm

Ages 5-6

Ages 6-8To develop technique, athletic skills and court coverage - critical for success in having consistent rallies as well as point play. Variety of fun, competitive games used to develop a strong foundation of fundamentals.

Ages 6-10

Ages 10-11

Emphasizes the fundamental techniques for a player first coming into the 78’ green ball court. Focus is placed on proper technique and learning basic footwork patterns. Players are taught how to rally, score and differentiate tactics between singles and doubles.

Futures

Mon/Wed 5-7pm

Ages 11+

For middle school or high school players to gain confidence in the game to prepare for joining their school team. In addition to learning basic stokes and footwork, this clinic will also work on ball placement and control with a focus on singles and doubles strategies.

Smashers

Tue/Thur 5-7pm

Ages 11+

For players looking to build a stronger technical foundation. Clinics will work to enhance the player’s form and footwork with rally drills. Placement in this group is determined by correct technique and the desire to build upon it. The goal is to give these players the necessary skills to compete once they get older in platforms such as JTT, L6, L5 tournaments, and club events. Your child will receive attention from multiple Hollow Rock Tennis Professionals to better improve the foundations of tennis.

Acers

Mon/Wed 5-7pm

For players who are engaged in L6 and L5 Tournaments who are ready for more advanced strategies. Players will learn directional rallying, basic patterns of match play, and advanced skills such as taking the ball on a rise or out-of-air, spin, and placement of serve. Technical skills and match play will be practiced through live ball drills. Your child will receive attention from multiple Hollow Rock Tennis Professionals to better improve the foundations of tennis.

Junior Tennis Clinic Rules and Regulations

  • Students should enroll prior to the commencement of the clinics.

  • Students who attend an additional day as a make up, should notify coaches in writing.

  • Coaches have the right to deny any drop-in attendees if it directly affects the coach to student ratio.

  • Weather related cancellations will be made by the coaches. An email will be sent to all registered players. This will also be visible on the scheduler in court reserve.

  • Credits will be made for all weather-related cancellations.

  • If a child cannot attend, please notify the coaches in writing.

  • Players are expected to arrive on time and fully prepared.
